The Groundwork Arc™
Two phases. One arc. A movement practice built on what your body actually needs — not what a program assumes it should be able to do.
Phase 1
Four steps from first contact to the beginning of your coaching arc. We get to know each other, establish the baseline, and build the foundation before a single session begins.
Your pathway in
A genuine conversation about where you are, what you've tried, and what you're actually looking for. Not a sales call — an honest exploration of fit, for both of us.
A complimentary experience of the methodology firsthand. You'll leave with a felt sense of how Groundwork moves and holds space — not just an intellectual understanding of it. The body knows before the mind does.
When the fit is clear and mutual, the professional relationship is formalized. Clear agreements create the conditions for honest work.
A full-system intake — health history, movement history, nervous system context, pain patterns, and lifestyle factors. By the end, your coach has a complete map. Nothing is assumed. Everything is built on this.
Phase 2
Ground before growth. Literacy before load. Capacity before complexity.
Regulate → Root → Rise
One process. Each one building the conditions the next one requires. You cannot shortcut this arc — and you won't want to.
Regulate → Prepare the system.
Root → Teach the system.
Rise → Expand the system.
The coaching arc
Assessment in motion. The body is read while it moves.
This is where it begins. Not with load. Not with a program. With the ground. Groundwork's Regulation sessions are a living baseline — the coach reading breath, bracing, regulation, gripping, stacking, activation, and tension leaking as the body moves. The nervous system, the movement patterns, and the health picture all arrive in the room together. Before anything is built, we know what we're building on.
The body learns itself. Skills are built. Signals are followed.
Root is where the body develops genuine movement literacy. M.A.S.S.E.S.™ is applied in full — all six pillars, in sequence. Stability is built before strength is added. The 7S Capacity Model™ tracks exactly where you are in your embodiment progression. M7™ gives the coach the systemic lens to make sure nothing is missed. You stop guessing. You start knowing.
The work becomes a life. The client becomes the author.
Rise is where everything built in Regulate and Root is integrated and applied through the full range of movement capacity. Traditional training systems — strength, conditioning, performance — are introduced through the Groundwork lens. The S.E.W.N.™ and N.E.W.S.™ Compasses arrive: internal and external orientation, so you can read yourself and navigate the world from a genuinely grounded place. You are not just getting stronger. You are learning to sustain it.
Six physiological signals that lay the groundwork for everything that follows.
"Can breath move without the body needing to brace?"
Breath is our first signal. Sometimes the body learned to hold for protection. We're simply noticing whether breath can move freely, or whether it still feels safer to guard.
"Can the system settle without having to control it?"
Regulation isn't something we force. It's something we allow. We observe whether the body can downshift with support, or whether ease feels unfamiliar right now. Both are useful information.
"Can stability organize without gripping?"
Gripping often means the body is trying to help. We're looking for stability that feels supported and distributed, rather than effortful or held. This tells us where to begin inside M.A.S.S.E.S.™
"Can the body find stack with guidance and awareness?"
Stack isn't about perfection. It's about alignment that feels sustainable. We explore whether the body can organize itself in a way that receives load safely and efficiently.
"Can activation be felt from the inside?"
There's a difference between copying a shape and sensing a connection. We're listening for genuine internal feedback — the body recognizing its own effort.
"Can load be expressed without excess tension traveling elsewhere?"
When tension shows up in unexpected places, it's usually the body trying to share the work. We observe how force moves through the system, so we can refine it with clarity rather than push through it.
These are the six physiological signals we assess inside Regulate. Other contextual factors influence the ground, but these are the first data points we look for in motion.
"Wholeness is your birthright.
The Arc just hands it back to you."
